Established in 1981 the firm continued under various names until 2003 when Rhonda McDowall became a partner in the firm.  The law firm of McDowall & Moorefield is a North Carolina law firm focusing in the areas of Family Law and Criminal Defense.  We represent people in Buncombe, Madison, Haywood, and Henderson counties. We do not represent insurance companies.

Our Attorneys:

WILLIAM D. MCDOWALL, JR., B.S., M.B.A., J.D., retired – Bachelor of Arts from UNC-Charlotte; M..B.A. from Western Carolina University and a graduate of Campbell University School of Law. In addition, Mr. McDowall holds both a Real Estate Broker and General Contractor’s license with the State of North Carolina. He practiced in both state and federal courts in the areas of criminal and civil litigation.

RHONDA K. MOOREFIELD, B.S., J.D.– Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Western Carolina University and a graduate of Stetson University College of Law. Ms. Moorefield practices both criminal and civil litigation in state and federal courts with a concentration in personal injury and family law cases. She is a member of the North Carolina Advocates for Justice and the American Association for Justice. She is also a Certified Mediator in the Family Financial Settlement Program through the State of North Carolina Dispute Resolution Commission.
